A short presentation of yourself:
I have worked for over 20 years in freshwater ecology research. My interests focus on sturgeon conservation; implementation of EU-Water Framework Directive in Romania; human impact on ecosystem services; assessment of global warming effects on freshwater ecosystems ; impact of pollution on aquatic biocenoses; water quality and trophic state assessment (freshwater ecosystems); effects of river regulation on aquatic biodiversity; role of nutrients in eutrophication. Since 2012, I was appointed as coordinator of the Danube Sturgeon Task Force, established in the frame of the EUSDR - PA 06 to foster the implementation of the target “to secure viable populations of Danube sturgeon species and other indigenous fish species by 2020”. In this position, I have coordinated a TAF - DRP application whose output consisted in enlarging the DSTF network and developing four pilot activities. We recently acquired an EUSDR START project to prepare the further implementation of Sturgeon 2020 program.
