water quality, wastewater treatment
A short presentation of yourself:
I am working as a postdoctoral researcher at Eötvös Loránd University, Department of Microbiology. My PhD research topic was the intensification of "living machine" wastewater treatment plants. I studied the chemical and microbiological structure of the biofilm in a pilot plant scale fixed-film wastewater treatment plant and I characterized the surface of different polymer based biofilm carriers. Currently I am working on the bioremediation of soils and groundwater contaminated with short-chain chlorinated hydrocarbons. I also took part in a project, where the sediment of Danube was examined from chemical point of view, especially the appearance of micro-pollutants. In my department I am responsible for the water chemistry measurements of different surface waters including samples from the the Danube, the Lake Velencei and Buda Thermal Karst.
