Mirjana Lenhardt is a research professor at the Institute for Biological Research and Institute for Multidisciplinary Research University of Belgrade. The main area of her research relates to freshwater fish species which involve also endangered fish species of the Danube River. She is interesting in endangering factors of sturgeon species populations in Lower Danube Region and their protection as sturgeons represents an important part of natural and cultural heritage of this region. Currently she is involved in European project which deals with investigation of sturgeons behavior in relation to Djerdap II HP dam.
