The 7th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, taking place on 18-19 October 2018 in Sofia, is jointly organised by Bulgaria (current Presidency of the EUSDR) and the European Commission https://www.7danube-forum-sofia.eu/
Under the title 'Culture and Tourism Boosting Growth in the Danube Region' the main focus of the event will be on tourism development as a precondition to economic growth and territorial cohesion.

On behalf of the PAC 10 of the EUSDR and together with the National Agency for Cadastre and Land Registration of Romania (ANCPI) we herewith cordially invite you to the workshop "Open Data from the Perspective of Data Protection" in Bucharest from November 20-21, 2017.

The workshop is a follow up and result of the CapaCity workshop on land information systems in the Danube Region taking place in June 2017 in Belgrade.

The Seed Money Facility Launch Event to be organised by the Danube Transnational Programme (DTP) on 27th September 2017 in Vienna aims to discuss and disseminate information about the:

- Danube Transnational Programme and EUSDR;

- DTP Call for proposals for the Seed Money Facility – to be launched in autumn 2017;

- Seed Money Facility in general;

- Seed Money Facility call for proposal in particular (rules and procedures);

- Topics addressed by the Seed Money Facility call;

On May 16th, BOKU University hosted the Austrian premiere of the documentary “Lives among Waters”, a film about the life in the Danube Delta, made by Dr. Oana Ivan.
The movie was presented in the frame of the CEEPUS network EcoManAqua in the workshop “A view on the Romanian aquatic life - endangered or invaded?”.

Under the title “Innovative Flows - Water, Knowledge and Innovation in the Danube Region“, the Forum will put a strong emphasis on the challenges and perspectives of water management and research and innovation.  The key question to answer will be how to best transform political commitment into operational policies and measures.

As for the previous editions in Bucharest, Vienna and Ulm, Danube:Future team is present to this important event!

Prof. Verena Winiwarter, Coordinator of the Danube:Future network was invited as a panelist to the first Käte Hamburger Kolleg meeting („Spitzenforschung in den Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften – Ziele, Wege und Wirkungen der Käte Hamburger Kollegs") held in Berlin on June, 26th, 2015. Her initial statement on the podium was taken from the attached text .

The State of Baden-Württemberg has set up the Danube Strategy Point (DSP) in its Representation to the EU in Brussels in May 2015 with the support of the European Union.

The DSP is a coordination body of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR). With establishing the DSP, the Directorate-General for Regional Policy of the European Commission and the National Coordinators of the EUSDR are taking a new approach in the governance of this macro-regional strategy of the EU.
